WH Smith Memorial School proudly hosted Concordia 5.0,an inter-school competition that brought together 19 schools for an exhilarating "Teen Tech - Sell Your Product" event. The competition provided a platform for budding entrepreneurs to showcase their creativity and business acumen.This year's theme was particularly relevant: promoting eco-friendly products. Competition Highlights: The event saw enthusiastic participation from a total of 19 schools, each represented by a team of five students. The competition's objective was to design, produce, and market an eco-friendly product. The participants displayed incredible innovation, presenting a diverse range of products aimed at sustainable living. Among the items showcased were: Eco-friendly cattle feed: Designed to improve livestock health while minimizing environmental impact. Organic detergent powders: A sustainable alternative to conventional chemical detergents. Natural perfumes: Fragrances derived from natural sources, reducing the use of synthetic chemicals. Handcrafted soaps: Created with natural ingredients, promoting personal wellness and eco-conscious consumerism. The competition was a testament to the students' hard work and ingenuity, as they passionately explained their product's features, benefits, and marketability to the judges and audience. Esteemed Panel of Judges The judging panel comprised distinguished guests from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), who brought their expertise to evaluate the students' projects. They were: Dr. Rakhi Gupta: An assistant professor in the Commerce Department at BHU. Dr. Shikha Mishra: An assistant professor in the Tourism Management Department within the History faculty at BHU. The judges' thorough evaluations and constructive feedback were highly encouraging for all the young participants. The level of competition was fierce, with all teams demonstrating immense talent. After a challenging deliberation process, the host school, WH Smith Memorial School, emerged victorious. The team was lauded for its outstanding product and compelling presentation

The Elocution Competition was held at W.H.Smith Memorial for class 6-class 12 on 03-May-2025 showcasing the public speaking skills of students and also enhancing their creativity and confidence. Participants from various grades showcased their oratorical talents by reciting poetry. The event aimed to foster effective communication skills. The competition was divided into different age groups to cater to the diverse needs and skills of the students. Judging Criteria: The judges evaluated the participants based on: · Clarity of speech · Confidence and stage presence · Content and creativity · Expression and diction · Overall presentation The Judges Dr. Sangeeta Jain and Mrs. Shalini Deva for English poem recitation and Dr. Sapna Bhushan and Dr Pawan Kr Pandey for Hindi poem and Sanskrit recitation were welcomed by Mrs. Pratyasha Mary Mukherjee(Vice Principal) and Mrs. Sangeeta Nayak (Coordinator). The welcome speech was delivered by Mrs. Sangeeta Nayak (Coordinator). Judges appreciated the revive of the art of elocution. The judges, amazed by the clarity, confidence, and expression of the young orators, found it challenging to pick winners. From powerful pauses tovoice modulations, the participants proved that they are one step closer to become confident public speaker. Starting year of DDD- 1998 Dedicated to - International day of elderly people. Aim- Helping elderly people to live with good health. Success- So far 27 DDD have been organized. Programme - The main programme is organised inside the school campus, having 3 segments. 1- To organise a free medical camp for elderly people. 2-Selection of Smart Dada and Smart Dadi. 3- Honouring active elderly citizens of our town- Varanasi. Hindi Gyan Pariksha is organized to develop love and interest for the Hindi language among students. It encourages them to read, write, and speak Hindi correctly while enriching their vocabulary and removing hesitation in expressing thoughts. The event builds confidence and pride in using Hindi as a medium of communication and thought. Through this programme, children are also introduced to great Hindi writers and their works, fostering cultural awareness and literary appreciation. To make learning lively and engaging, a variety of activities are conducted. Debate competitions provide a platform to present views logically. Storytelling enhances creativity, imagination, and fluency. Hindi Quiz (multiple choice) tests knowledge of language, grammar, and literature in an enjoyable manner. Declamation contests help students develop expression, pronunciation, and confidence by presenting famous speeches.
